We love the ingenuity of Mad.Elephant’s jewelery designs, which includes items as disparate as ‘chicken bone knucklering, a 22 caliber bullet shell bracelet and a dove’s foot bracelet’. Of her work she says: ‘Art is the filter in my brain that sorts through and deals with all the thoughts in my head which are numerous and sometimes hard to deal with. I heal myself through my art. I found that when I deal with personal issues and painful subject matter, my art is much stronger as well as my concepts. Strife inspires me. Maybe I seek it out in some ways because this is so. Although the healing process is difficult and exhausting, I come out stronger in the end. My jewelry is a perfect manifestation of this process’.

Star Wars Uncut: a fully crowdsourced version of Episode IV
The project of creative technologist, Casey Pugh, this full length version of the George Lucas masterpiece was created from multiple 15 second segments recreated from the original movie and submitted by thousands of Star Wars fans, which were then spliced together by editor Aaron Valdez to form the final product. Genius, as both a commentary on contemporary pop culture trends (there are references to LEGO, stop motion, memes and the like) and on the power of tapping your audience for quality material.
Filmmaker creates LEGO stop motion to propose to girlfriend
Now, this is one for the ages: back in 2010, Atlanta film-maker Walter Thompson created a jaw-dropping LEGO stop motion to propose to Nealey Dozier, his girlfriend of four years. The video took 22 hours of shooting and some 2,600 pictures to splice together, a small sacrifice to pay for years of happiness together. Right? Right! Oh, and she said yes. Bonus.

I almost forgot — metal is really about being drunk, pissed, offensive, and satanic. I have Bestial Mockery to thank for this. Their no-frills black thrash is barebones and snarling without being too dead-pan serious. These guys from Sweden are clearly having a blast worshiping the Dark One in the tradition of old-school bands like Venom, early Bathory, and Sodom. Nothing too original here, but it’s fun as hell.
It’s so easy to lose water bottles, but if you have one as nice as these KOR Vida ‘hydration vessels,’ you might be extra vigilant about not leaving it at yoga or the co-op check-out counter.
