Young Lovers t-shirt giveaway
Our friends over at Sydney-based t-shirt label Young Lovers have just launched their third collection of prints — called Midnight Twilight — which ‘celebrates the madness of midnight love and all that surrounds it’. Made from the finest cotton and strictly limited to 100 of each, we have two of the shirts to give away to randomly selected readers who leave a comment below this post telling us which tee from the collection you’d most like to have hanging in your wardrobe and why. Entries close January 12th.

Star Wars Uncut: a fully crowdsourced version of Episode IV
The project of creative technologist, Casey Pugh, this full length version of the George Lucas masterpiece was created from multiple 15 second segments recreated from the original movie and submitted by thousands of Star Wars fans, which were then spliced together by editor Aaron Valdez to form the final product. Genius, as both a commentary on contemporary pop culture trends (there are references to LEGO, stop motion, memes and the like) and on the power of tapping your audience for quality material.
Filmmaker creates LEGO stop motion to propose to girlfriend
Now, this is one for the ages: back in 2010, Atlanta film-maker Walter Thompson created a jaw-dropping LEGO stop motion to propose to Nealey Dozier, his girlfriend of four years. The video took 22 hours of shooting and some 2,600 pictures to splice together, a small sacrifice to pay for years of happiness together. Right? Right! Oh, and she said yes. Bonus.

OMG! The ‘Stop Collaborate and Listen’ shirt for sure! Especially with Van Ice coming out to Australia soon – but mostly just because it was such a seminal song in my life! I can totally do the whole song at karaoke (and do frequently) – bringing the roof down!!!

No doubt…my choice is the white “young lovers never die” which kind of reminds of Rod Stewart’s “Young hearts be free tonight! time is on your side”.
Loving it!
Cheers from Buenos Aires.

Young Lovers Never Die! It couldn’t be more true and being a young lover I need a t-shirt that represents that. A solid brand with plenty of good t-shirts. I would really appreciate having one of their shirts.
Lost at E Minor… you are the best.

The Degrassi Class of ’88, especially in that fantastic yellow hue was my favorite… but alas, sold out. Luckily those aussies have a great selection of tees! I need to get my hands on the Diamond Burger one – the caption below the photo says it all. It’s perfect and a really interesting image. And it’s shiny.

a black cat eating licourice at midnight!!! its just great it reminds me of my grand mothers room in mexico, it used to have big black rococo furniture and i was really scared of going inside because it used to be sooo dark but i would do it any ways just to smell my grandmothers scarfs, and to look inside her drawers, i would always find great pictures like the one of the black cat eating licourice at midnight! it was her big treasure and this would be mine!

the “Collaborate and Listen” tee has a strong social message and “ice, ice, baby, to go” starts to play in my head.
but my fav is the “Black Cat at Midnight”. Reminds me of “The Six Bullerby Children” by Astrid Lindgren. Really a wonderful read, at least in childhood (: I recall a scene from the book, where children argue whats the darkest thing in the world and comes out its “black man eating blueberries in a dark room”.
I wonder do they silkscreen their tees..?
keepitup!

i like the keytar t-shirt. i’ve always wanted to have a keytar, from watching all those ’80s synthpoppers on Video Hit Parade, so it’s the closest thing that i can get to owning (and playing) one!
Heather said | 7 January, 2008
Oh, man! Picking only one has proven itself to be extremely difficult. I think if I were to choose one, I’d choose the yellow Diamond Burger. Wait. Agh, the Keytar? Because, I mean, I play the Keytar when I’m at my friend’s house. What could be cooler than playing the keytar while wearing a shirt of someone playing the keytar? I really don’t know the answer to that one. Ah! Or the pirate king shirt?! Everyone I know is obsessed my pirates. Or ninjas. If I got that shirt, pirates would most definitely win the age old war.
Gosh. Okay. Final choice?
… Keytar.

I have to have the Vanilla Ice quote in Black/Blue – when this song comes on in parties I search the room for people with the same memories of sitting with the tape inlay learning the lyrics as a 9 year old.. If I have the shirt I won’t even need the music, I’ll just proudly wear the shirt in Cardiff on a Saturday afternoon, and find my perfect companion ![]()

i’d go for the “organ donors.” As a med student I could bust it out at opportune times to educate patients or colleagues and show them what exactly is going down for different maladies. “Sooo, as you can see indicated by this Swell Tshirt from younglovers.com.au, hypertrophy is occurring in the right ventricle of the heart. This is most likely caused by regurgitation of the pulmonary valve or perhaps increased pre-load as indicated by peripheral edema and also causing an enlarged right atrium. Eventually this condition will manifest with cardiac remodeling and ventricular arrhythmias (gulp), so take care of yourself”.
Ah, it will change lives and we will be all the wiser.

Organ Donor, a great twist on the iconic skeleton t-shirts. The color schemes are great!

Gotta go with the diamond burger in white– at first I was drawn to the yellow, but I like my diamonds pristine and white. What don’t I love about it? Those great sparkle lines shooting out of the burger, the newsprint-ish textures of the detail view, the way the white and purple diamonds stand in for white and purple onions in your typical delicious advertised cheeseburger… fantastic design. I just want to reach in and bite it. Without hurting my teeth, somehow.
Chris said | 8 January, 2008
I’m feelin’ the Stop Collaborate and Listen. It’s straight to the point and its colorful. Good shirt for parties because I could break into the room and yell “STOP!” and everyone would look at me and then i’d be like “collaborate and listen” and they would see the shirt and know whats up.
Peace!

The answer, clearly, is keytar. What can a keytar give you? What can it NOT give you. The keytar is the perfect blending of industrial and organic – is it any coincidence that it happens to be shaped like a key itself? No, it is not. It is on purpose.
Oh keytar, how nobly you straddle the gap between Moog and Fender. I salute thee.
Dom said | 9 January, 2008
Is it a- “Brand New Addition?” I like it.

My answer would be the Y&R T-shirt. That’s what I was. That’s what the T-shirt is.

I love the organ donor tee because it reminds me of Slim Goodbody. Anybody remember him? He wore that totally creepy unitard with drawings of organs on it. You can check it out at slimgoodbody.com
My personal favoritest favorite however is the Keytar. I used to have a keytar! OMG!
It would be so boss to have that one.

I would do so much for the pirate king tee shirt! if i’m not the lucky winner i’ll probably save up some money and buy it cause i love it so much. i’d love to be a pirate king myself and this shirt would constantly inspire me to dress in finery, put on an eye patch, drink booze, and carry knives in my teeth! haha well…perhaps it’d be better if i didn’t, so i’ll just pretend i’m living vicariously through the stunning graphic on my tee shirt.

I’d love the vampire tee shirt, so i could wear it really late at night and alternately excite and freak out my friends cause the pattern is SO CRAZY and the teeth look creepy and the whole thing is spectacular. It would never get old, I’d probably have to ask someone to help prevent me from wearing it on the daily…and the nightly, it’d inspire me to never sleep and become a vampire!

Stop, Collaborate & Listen, because everybody needs to know the true musical genius that was and is Vanilla Ice. Those four words did more for race relations that any political protest or government policy.”Stop, Collaborate and Listen” was much more than getting a couple of your mates to play on your next record, it goes much deeper than that. It was about a bringing together of different cultures and identities to create something much bigger than the sum of all its parts…..yeah, that’s right, I’m talking about synergy.
And what better way to commemorate this momentous time in our history than to wack it on a tshirt. If I win this tshirt I do solemnly swear to wear it proudly and use it as an opportunity to educate the young people of today about the power of white nerd hip hop.

It’s got to be “Young Lovers Never Die”, white on red. How many times have you walked into a room and seen someone suggesting that you and them should go off and make immortal love for all eternity?
Even if the answer was “yes”, let’s pretend its “no” for now, just for this explanation.
So you never have.
Well, would it not be the ultimate statement, to stand there and wait for someone to join you in eternity, knowing that they all want to?
It seems like that to me.
