Breaking out of the backwoods of Northern California, Alela Diane writes music of subtle beauty — introspective, moody, and drenched in poetic ambiguity. Her album, the Pirate Gospel, was recorded in her father’s basement and originally pressed on CDR. It was distributed amongst her friends in ‘hand-crafted packaging’. Word of mouth is a Wonderful Thing. And she may very well be the Next Big Thing.
