If you were a big fan of Astroball, Manifold is a great way to waste a few hours of your life. In this game, you’re an ant-like creature that has to find a portal at one end of the screen. However, long falls, grinding gears, gigantic buzzsaw blades, and other obstacles are in your way. Fortunately, you have a ball with which you can create a gravity irregularity that you can use to propel, swing, or spin yourself to your goal. If you’re into puzzles, this game will own your soul. FFFFOUND! is a fun website that allows you to bookmark your favorite images from the Internet and share them with fellow users, sort of like a del.icio.us specifically for pictures. The site is still in private beta and not currently supported on Mac, but as its collection of images expands, it’s likely to become much more widely available.
There’s some nice, doom-tinged psych rock coming out of Holtzclaw, Virginia in the form of Pontiak, a lumbering, feverish, blues-heavy trio that sounds like a hungover morning after a drunken party around a bonfire in the woods.
