Nowadays it seems that the best viewing is on the internet, not TV. Though Vice magazine tends to be mostly fashion and trendsetting, Vice TV happens to be worldy and informative. I first came across David Shrigley‘s funny and disturbing postcards a little while back. More recently I discovered a book of his that looked like a record full of lyrics for songs entitled The Empty Sleeve. Cool! When you first see The Gershwin Hotel, you might think it’s an art gallery or a public art installation. The dial is a modern version of the 19th century art form of lithophanes: carved porcelain sheets that, when lit, deliver astoundingly detailed images.
