Jing De Zhen ceramics
On a recent trip to China, I visited the province of Jing De Zhen (about seven hours southwest of Shanghai), where they have been hand turning and hand painting porcelain pieces since the Ming Dynasty. Known as the Ceramic Capital of the World because of its highly graded porcelain and the skill and patience that each ceramist possesses, this is a wonderful example of traditional artistic expression in Chinese culture. Old-school, timeless French is the vibe of creative agency Mother London’s latest campaign for Stella Artois. Titled Recyclage de Luxe, these massive, 1960s vintage-esc posters lining the walls of London’s tube aim to unabashedly promote Stella’s green credentials. The vibrant, revival ads, along with other campaign gimmicks, are all part of the brand’s efforts to boost its environmental image. Read more
FFFFOUND! is a fun website that allows you to bookmark your favorite images from the Internet and share them with fellow users, sort of like a del.icio.us specifically for pictures. The site is still in private beta and not currently supported on Mac, but as its collection of images expands, it’s likely to become much more widely available.
Major Stars are another throwback ’70s rock band, playing Sabbath-flavored, guitar-driven psych tunes. But what sets them apart from the horde of Zeppelin-worshipping clones is vocalist Sandra Clarkson, whose voice is clean and feminine, but loud and aggressive — she doesn’t try to affect a Janis Joplin rasp. The band’s music also skews heavily towards the Acid Mothers Temple end of the ’70s revival thing rather than the Wolfmother side, another plus. Nope, rock still isn’t dead.
The original Lomography Sidekick bag has had a revamp. Though it still maintains its 2-in-1 design, it now houses a smaller section to comfortably hold compact cameras, and a larger compartment for all the other things you need. It also fits your laptops. Oh, and the exterior is made from 100% water-resistant TPE. Fun!

My friend Josh Van Horne, a local Baltimore artist, did this amazing mural in our neighborhood that depicts the history of this warehouse-laden area.
