Courtney James is a 23-year-old graphic designer and illustrator from Detroit Michigan where she is attending the College for Creative Studies, specialising in digital art and design. ‘This media has given me the opportunity to accurately express my own personality and depict the elements that make this world beautiful’, she says. James’ illustrations are typically figurative, incorporating organic forms found throughout nature: ‘I am constantly being inspired by all that surrounds me, the love and support in my life is what drives me to continually reinvent myself’.

Tattoo artist sued by ex-girlfriend for obscene design
Oh boy, this is so bizarre it could only be true. Apparently a Dayton, Ohio, tattoo artist has been slapped with a $100,000 lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend for tattooing an image of, erm, excrement with flies on her back rather than the scene from Narnia that she had requested. The reason? He’d recently found out that she had been cheating on him with one of his buddies. Damn! And here we were thinking this was the hot new look for trailer park trash crowd.

The philosophy of a beginning is to me, a wonderful concept. So for American-born, Paris-based sister duo CocoRosie, who released their third album The Adventure of Ghosthouse and Stillborn to much acclaim, making the trip to their beginnings is more than worth the journey: their debut album, Le Maison de Mon Reve (released back in 2004) was a gentle stroll through their pop and classical influences, which melt together seamlessly into a backdrop for their unique and enchanting voices.
