Richard Meaghan
As his bio states, Richard Meaghan’s paintings are ‘an amalgamation of a number of experiences that revolve around memory, making use of allegorical and pictorial inventions and references from art history. His narrations are not linear, but rather associative and analytical, so that the works function like short stories, in which the plot is compressed into single images. However, the fragments have to be pieced together and thus can seemingly fall somewhere between dream and reality’.

Death Cab for Cutie’s Little Brides clip
The inventive video for the new Death Cab for Cutie song Little Bribes was directed by cinematographer Ross Ching, a longtime fan of the band whose interest in time-lapse photography was spurred by the Brothers On A Hotel Bed video from the band’s Directions DVD. The San Diego State University film school graduate created the Little Bribes clip on his own, which he then posted on his personal website under the heading, Looking For A Job. When members of Death Cab saw Ching’s work, they decided to release Little Bribes as the track’s official video. Ching has since been hired by Atlantic Records to helm a future video project for the label.
Using a chemical free philosophy, Skinny Nelson and Friends is an androgynous, eco label, the creation of Sydney-based designers Zachary Midalia and Jacqui Alexander.

The influences of Charles Burns, Spumco, and even Gary Larson are apparent in Josh J. Holinaty’s demented drawings and comics. I especially love the multi-appendaged Yeti forest monster thing.
Wolf and Cub are back with a brand new single and after listening to it, I feel like I should be out in the streets, warning my neighbours of the apocalypse. The song is huge, forceful, damming and painfully exciting. Joel Byrne’s half-drawl, half-howl proclaims the end, while (in true Wolf and Cub) the drums are epic and unsettling. And then, that moment, the bass against the fading echoes. My heart broke and my brain exploded. It’s too much to take. This band will be the death of me.
Argentinean artist Benito Laren’s illustrations roll through the mind like a restless childhood memory. They remind me of building blocks — solid, inviting and always full of potential.
