There’s something magic about being in the same space as those performing at the very height of their field. The Australian Chamber Orchestra have just kicked off their Great Romantics national tour and it was a treat to see them live in Newcastle, Australia for their first show. I’m no chamber orchestra aficionado, but I know good music when I hear it. And the tones played by lead violinist Richard Tognetti are as sweet as you could hope to hear. Can’t hurt having a 1743 Guarneri del Gesù violin under the chin. A tour worth checking out.

Nothing can be cooler than scratches on an ipod (yeah right?!?), especially self inflicted scratches made while changing the battery and hard drive in my ipod. Having a Cool Designs cover for my ipod would make my ipod hipper and cooler than anyone else’s ipod with the knowledge that I have disassembled my ipod, and with the help of cool designs put it back together AND made it better looking than any other ipod in town!!!

Chicks dig scars (according to the evil kanevil type character on the simpsons) but unfortunately that doesn’t translate to a scratchd up ipod! Actually, i don’t think any girls have paid close enough attention to my ipod to notice how scratched the back of it is anyway, but it sure will stand out if i had one of those sweet designs and my ipod sure is scratched to buggery.

it’s just how music has always been an inspiration to most designers. music build visuals in the minds, and these imageries will first be transferred to paper. after which, one makes the design digital. it’s how the musicplayer (ipod) is being influenced by the music displaying designs on itself. if only, the cover changes whenever you change music, that will be so cool
having said that, seriously, who on earth will prefer scratches on their ipod to some pretty pretty covers? it’s like scratching yourself and making yourself bleed and you enjoy the feeling of it. i wouldn’t want my ipod to bleed man. its screen is bad enough.

In a vain attempt to avoid scratches on my iPod, I have forced upon it a condom like cover that I found in a bargain bin at Myer. As I type my little iPod lies lifeless next to me in the purple condom wrapper of pain. You can tell she is embarrassed. The cover not only feels nasty, it makes her look like a jellybean. Which is not at all fitting to the music that pumps from her belly. Please save my iPod from any more embarrassment, she will be eternally grateful.

My two year old loves to pick up things, ipods, wallets, blue-tac. He carries them round with him all day and then leaves them in strange places. If I had a cool design on my ipod he would look really cool whilst it would protect it from scratches and at the end of the day I’d be able to find it easily.

I’m going to play devils advocate… who would have thought a scratched record would one day be cool? Perhaps scratched ipods will be the cool of the future… but I’m not quite avant garde enough to lead that revolution. I’d be perfectly content with an arty ipod cover and a cup of tea.

Scratches tell a story as do these piece of Art. My scratched up IPOD weaves the tale of a thousand narratives(with an underpinning thread of the time I dropped it..again…).Unfortunatley it is running out of space for more scratches so an overlay of another tale,this time a more aesthetically pleasing piece of art, will be a welcome addition.

Although scratches on an IPOD, a dangerously untidy bedroom or various dents on one’s car could be a clear reflection of an individuals personality, there is nothing that coherently describes a persons character more than the way they present themselves. An interesting visual element on a person paves the way to an interesting character. Further more, the way in which one displays their tastes also gives insight to their character & personality. Therefore the concept behind these little beauties is much more than enhancing the visual element of the i pod itself, instead further highlighting the owners character.

I’ve got an iPod Nano, and last spring I was out jogging with it when SUDDENLY it started pooring down! -And what can you do when you’re in the middle of nowhere, soaked, with a precious iPod in your hand..?
I thought it died there and then. However, it woke up a YEAR later!! So I would LOVE to have some new clothes for it to celebrate the fact that it survived

Although the scratches on my ipod somehow explain everything it has been through since I first got it like losing it and finding it hidden underneath my couch, bed, in my backpack or being simply misplaced I feel every scratch gives it a personality. Yet, a time comes when we have to hide the scratch that once made it and cover it with something beautiful to tell a story of how it got to be beautiful. The music will still be the same but the personality will be different.

hey, I love the idea. The plane white of the Ipod is still such a trademark, but once everyone owns one, and they all get scratched up, why not introduce some colour to personalize it? THe problem was that the coloured nanos that were introduced do not do the Ipod justice. It’s an investment, and not just because of the price, but hours are spent finding songs that contribute to your personal collection of music, so why not add a personalized design to the case around your music?? (And protect it too!)

Scratches are arbitrary, meaningless lines that were often put there by accident. The lines on these cases were put there on purpose and they just so happen to be representations of objects that strike a familiar chord in the minds of most humans who gaze upon them. Lets see scratches pull that off! Scratches are strictly for non-cool people. If you see someone with a scratched iPod, I think it’s safe to say that they are probably a serial killer, and you should notify the proper authorities immediately.

About 2 years ago I finally saved $550 to go out and buy myself a brand new ipod. When I got home i charged it up and downloaded some tunes on to it , and slapped it straight in to the back pocket of my jeans and went a-walking.
Thinking that I was pretty much killing it with my new ipod, I took it out to flash around, and to my great disapointment, it was scratched. my pocket things on my jeans had scratched the SHIT out of my BRAND NEW IPOD!!!!… so any way it has taken 2 years to have finaly found a way to cover up the hideous scars of my ipods past. These covers will let my ipod live agian, instead of hiding in shame. embrace the plastic surgery of the ipod world, u too can be beautiful.

my iPod gives me grief. and by that i mean it actually gives me lots and lots of grief. sometimes it just wont turn on. sometimes i cant get it to connect to my pc via usb until ive plugged it into the wall socket, if only for 1 secods. and sometimes my clickwheel decides that its on a lunch break. one of those really really long friday afternoon ‘im just going for the one beer’ type of lunchbreaks. but i still love it. though sometimes my love for it wavers a little. These are feasts for the eyes – just like my ipod! Thanks to my habit of placing it next to me while I eat, mr.pod has gained way more than just a set of awesome scratches – I can see traces of coffee, ice cream, and -eew! even tofu – I think I was listening to Xavier Rudd when that became part of the collection. So even though my ipod does have a bit of a five-star resturant menu-thing going on, a beautiful case would ensure that my ipod remains purely a feast for the eyes, not the cockroaches!

design is about being unique.. having something thats totally ausome, wacky, kitsch and sometimes quirky!!! “people like us” is really unique nd i like that.. stand out from the crowd with a sweet ipod cover.. lol being a designer for this company would b a dream come true but getting a design that every1 wants isn’t really the point is it? because then it might not be as unique any more but hey who doesn’t like a design and uniqueness that makes people envious and think that their ipod is a little plain… i have already made my friends little socks for their ipods but this skin idea is way more versatile… i haven’t got an ipod yet but when i do… it’s gonna blow every1’s mind… lol.. by the way scratches are soo overrated!!
