Since 2002 Workplace Co-operative 115 in London has been housing 16 artists and designers, working both autonomously and co-operatively. This is a peek at the future of workspaces.
Creatives are known for occupying inspiring workspaces, and personally I couldn’t ever go back to working in a space without a skateboard and table tennis table at arm’s reach. Such are the luxuries of a fine studio, but what happens when it’s time to adopt the coveted freelancing lifestyle? Working from home just doesn’t cut it, no matter how tricked up your work area is. A co-working space is the ideal solution; a home away from home packed with other like-minded independents ready to collaborate and share the working love. More and more of these inspiring places will be springing up across the globe, and as I’m sitting here overlooking Sydney’s most famous beach on a crisp sunny day, I’m thinking Bondi’s answer to Workplace Co-operative 115 would do me just fine.

Sufjan Stevens creates autistic music for introverts — soft, shy, naive, full of shadows, windows, and insecurities. Yet it all sounds slightly forced, his enigmatic songwriting as comforting as it is unsettling.
Only the French can get away with the sort of effete, gothic electropop that Position Parallele make. It’s hard to tell if the duo’s deadpan is supposed to be funny or not, but it’s pretty hard not to pull some angular, jerky dance moves when listening to their New Order-ish tunes.
