The Power Aware Cord is about visualising personal energy consumption, with the electricity current able to be seen through glowing pulses, flow, and intensity of light in the cord. By expressing the presence of energy use rather than hiding it, the idea is that people will explore and reflect upon their energy consumption.

I like this, but it has a couple of floors, it makes using energy actually quite pretty, even if you are aware of it, and it also uses energy itself. Check out this project for a similar vibe:

Good point, Tom. Though isn’t it better to highlight using power in a way that’s pleasant, than not highlight it at all (which is current state, right?)
