Laura Veirs
I saw Laura Veirs play the other night in New York, showcasing material from her latest album — Saltbreakers. Yes she’s slightly dorky, somewhat stilted on stage and kinda quiet with her audience, but heck, the girl has songs. Each track was a bubblegum wrap of melodic goodness, packed with a musical punch and flung out with lyrical profoundity to a crowded Manhattan theatre. There’s something quite compelling about the mix of ‘see-all’ and wide eyed naivety that her songs suggest. Maybe it’s her sense of determined exploration, or perhaps its just the thick rimmed glasses. Whatever. Her music comforts like raindrops on an old tin roof.
Listen to the new Laura Veirs song, Wandering Kind.

Couldn’t agree more. Saw the ATL show the other day and got the same vibe. Did they have the new outfits at that NY show?
By the way, taped the set and put it online…

Hey Rich, the were wearing the outfits and they looked styled to their eyeballs. Frock and roll all the way! It would be cool if you could post a comment with the link for the clip you took.
