Why is it that perusing the creative projects at ReadyMade always makes you wish you had more time? I’ve often thought the world would be a better place if there were 28 hours in each day – maybe then there’d be time to squeeze in a DIY project like modding a toaster to enjoy retro art toast for breakfast. Apparently you can think while you sleep but that’s not quite good enough. Am I the only one who thinks 24 hours just isn’t enough time for satisfying creative desire?

Los Feliz artist Vanessa Prager has been exhibited at the Robert Berman Gallery, Gallery 1988, and the Santa Monica Museum of Art. Her series, Hunting and Gaming — which opens in LA on January 24th — explores the ‘nature of sinister play’. Back in the day, New Zealand pop absurdists, Split Enz were the finest damn Australasian band around. This track, I Walk Away, off their final album — Spellbound — is their ultimate moment: a hefty dose of pure melodic majestry, wrapped around the aching lyrics and quirky arrangements of genius frontman, Neil Finn.
Canada seems to be the land of amazing ambient metal duos.
