William Cordova
Peruvian born, Miami based artist William Cordova earned a BFA from The Art Institute of Chicago in 1996 and MFA from the Yale University School of Art in 2004. His illustrations seek to ‘examine the transitional points within time and space and their relationship to architecture’. [see also Andrew Schoultz]

New Banksy artwork angers the Catholic Church
Banksy has struck again, this time offending the Catholic Church with a bold artwork that critiques their stance on ongoing child abuse scandals. Banksy has taken a replica of a bust of an eighteenth century member of the Catholic hierarchy and added multi-coloured tiles to the face — pixelating it — as a comment on what he considers to be the Church’s cover-up. ‘I’m never sure who deserves to be put on a pedestal or crushed under one’, Banksy noted. Tattoo artist sued by ex-girlfriend for obscene design
Oh boy, this is so bizarre it could only be true. Apparently a Dayton, Ohio, tattoo artist has been slapped with a $100,000 lawsuit by his ex-girlfriend for tattooing an image of, erm, excrement with flies on her back rather than the scene from Narnia that she had requested. The reason? He’d recently found out that she had been cheating on him with one of his buddies. Damn! And here we were thinking this was the hot new look for trailer park trash crowd.

Edgar Askelovic created an awesome, hyper-realistic sculpture of Andy Warhol had he lived to his 83rd birthday on August 6th this year. If you’re in the UK, you can view the sculpture in person at the MCDERMOTTgalleries in Birmingham.
Holy LEGO awesomeness, Batman! Orion Pax, the man behind LEGO M.A.S.K. and LEGO Soundwave, has created an incredibly detailed Batcave complete with Batmobile, Batman, and Robin.
Micah P. Hinson is like every rustic, broken down, and pieced back together country great that’s ever been. Only hipper and slightly less sombre. This track, Diggin’ A Grave, is a button-up hoe down with a classic pop chorus and a jangly banjo accompaniment. Yup, some folk have all the fun.
Formed in New York and now based in Rotterdam and Berlin, SMAQ is a collaborative studio for architecture and urbanism by architects Sabine Müller and Andreas Quednau. Here they have created an interesting installation called Bad (bath) in the Solitude Palace Gardens in Stuttgart with the premise of creating a usable sculpture which entwines a 1000 metre long garden hose throughout a timber structure. Music isn’t necessarily a serious venture. It’s almost funny when you find some you know will grate to dust the stiff upper lipped critics of the world. Every now and then I like the type of sound that hops around the edge of your ears without working its way into your brain and messing up the seratonin levels. And Californian 16-piece tropical-ska-pop group, Still Flyin’, do just that for me. It’s a good laugh, quite catchy, and an awesome live experience so I’m told: especially with the sun out, a can of cider in your hand and a bunch of grinning faces skanking around you.
