11 Spring Street
GOOD Magazine has just compiled a print and video feature on 11 Spring Street, the abandoned building in downtown New York that locals have grown to love and admire after hosting many years of stunning street art. In late 2006 artists arrived at the famous location from around the world, collaborating to ‘plaster, paint, solder, glue, and otherwise make their mark on the building before it was converted to condominiums’. The building was opened to the public for three days, presenting an incredible artistic transformation both inside and out. GOOD Magazine was there and compiled this video, along with an article on the building’s history and the curation of its farewell.

Joking around with them before the show I realised how shaken up these guys actually were; hands were still shaking and their laughter was racked by nerves. Read more
NOW: an Analog Moving Picture Project
There’s a great story behind this prog-surf film. Riley Blakeway was an aspiring surf film-maker with incredible talent and a handfull of small film projects to his name. Chippa Wilson was a relatively unknown but amazing aerial surfer without the opportunity to show the world what he could do. In 2009, they won STAB magazine’s Little Weeds competition, respectively taking out the film-maker and surfer prizes. Read more

Kermit, who usually wears nothing, has been hooked up with some new threads to advertise the brand. It seems Kermit and Terry are the perfect work partners: they’ve even released a video clip documenting the shoot.

Once it’s demolished, will the owners of the new condominiums care about the artworks ever so fleetingly impressed upon the land?
