The whole electroclash-in-fashion trend was supposed to be a phenomenon that promised to revolutionise menswear. Alas, it has fizzled to a whimper. A mystery really, since electro acts like Ladytron and The Knife are still going strong. Well, in-season or not, fashion label Macabre makes really good stuff of that ilk. Combining cyberpunk with theatricality and androgyny, its designer costumes hint at a 25th century Phantom of the Opera performance. [see also Now You Own Us]

The Canadian-born artist’s illustrations of long, flowing, shampoo TVC-worthy, liquid-looking locks wrap around various portraits and situations, forming an intriguing mix of medieval folklore, nature and elements of the human form. Featured in publications like Tokion and Arkitip, this is the world’s first enactment of Rapunzel’s Freudian dreams.

I was feeling kind of picky this morning, searching for just the right thing to itch that Monday morning scratch. The beautiful origami like collages of London illustrator Kate Slater really did it. The fact that they’re 3D makes you convinced that you might actually be able to crawl inside one of them and reclaim a small bit of your childhood dangling delicately from marionette-like strings and casting shadows like a still from a puppet show.
Jonathan Bergeron, also known as Johnny Crap, does shirts and merch for horrible bands such as Escape the Fate and Avenged Sevenfold, but he’s got skills, so I won’t hold it against him. His ink drawings look like wood-block prints with their detail and precision. Read more
The Deal sisters have dropped off the indie-rock radar of late, but this clip of them covering Hank Williams’ I Can’t Help It reminds us why we all loved them so much back in the day. Incidentally, the Breeders are set to release their new album, Mountain Battles, in April.
Lookie here! A bike path in Seoul that plays music as people ride over it. The path is made of planks of wood of varying lengths that trigger little hammers when people ride over them, creating little percussive notes. Happy fun place yay!

Is it just me or do you have to be REALLY hyped up on X to appreciate this ridiculous clothing?
I lost how it just completely steals from The Knife – sort of like releasing a line of red jackets and single white gloves after MJ’s “Bad” was released. This is ugly – even for electroclash.
