Move.meant is a true Cali hip-hop group. Composed of three members from Sonoma State University, we are in California country. They bring a fresh breeze to this gender of music. Their single Higher is an amazing source of inspiration with a laid back feel, in tune with California lifestyle. On a musical level, it is well recorded and mastered with a cool undertone. We should all take note and spread the video. The art director Todd Angkasuwan delivers. The video is clean, CRISP, showing ’style’ in Los Angeles. Colours are saturated and real. Inline with a new elegance that is key to upcoming trends. All waiting for upcoming releases. This is a must have.

After strolling through The Fillmore in San Francisco, you may end up at the bottom of the Golden Gate Bridge, which is where you can check out an exhibition of Vivienne Westwood clothing being held at the De Young center. It encompasses 30 years of her designs including the infamous The Queen With Safety Pins t-shirt as worn by The Sex Pistols. Also featured is a history of corsets, part of a dialogue between the innerwear coming out and turning outerwear. Ah, the mysteries and vagaries of fashion. This is all a very interesting and revealing exhibition.

Banky’s done it before and now so can you, at least metaphorically. A group of Palestinian graf artists will spray-paint emailed messages onto the massive concrete wall that divides Israel and the West Bank and send you photos to prove it. The aim of the project is to creatively transform the physical purpose of the imposing eight metre high wall of separation into one of communication, joy and unity. It’s also a decorative, peaceful and simple way for the Palestinians behind the project to remind the rest of the world of their existence and plight. Funds raised go towards small-scale social and cultural projects in the West Bank, with the Palestinian Peace and Freedom Youth Forum behind the spray painting.
We have reported on Danish firm, JDS Architects, before. And here their memorable work continues. This glorious design for the Holmenkollen Ski Jump in Oslo is the result of an international competition and is to be completed in time for the 2011 World Championships. Read more

Very few band reunions get me excited, but I’ve consistently loved Faith No More since I was 13. I loved their pre-Mike Patton era, I loved King for a Day, and I even loved their track with Boo Yah Tribe on the Judgment Night soundtrack. Kerrang recently hinted that a FNM reformation is in the works for ‘09, and though bassist Billy Gould has emphatically denied the rumors, the general consensus is that the reunion is on.
Those old issues of Popular Mechanics that forecasted the wondrous technological developments of tomorrow now seem dated and more representative of the times in which they were published than the times they tried to predict. Read more
Says Van She bassist and vocalist Matt Van Schie about the Bush Tetras track — Too Many Creeps — from 1982: ‘I LOOOVE this tune. It opens with a perfect snare roll, and then the counter bass and guitar rhythms make it so cool. The lyrics are even more valid today. They’re one of my favourite bands of all time, and so many people try to do what they did for real. What a time! I wish I was born back then in New York, hanging out with these kids. Ahhhh!!’
London-based DJ, Kelpe, has just recorded a diverse electro mix for the Allez Allez blog, which you can download, turn up to eleven, and nod yo’ head to. It’s just the tonic for an early afternoon kickstart.

Forget battery powered vehicles. Cars made from ice are the future of transportation: no pollution, no honking horns, no painful rap music blasting out of souped up stereos. And if they melt, they melt. You just swim the rest of the way down the slipstream.

I live the upbeat, feel good tempo of the new single — A Hundred Hearts — from Philly group, The Swimmers. Off their latest album, People Are Soft, this song is a strangely fitting anthem for the blustery day outside.
