Argentinean designer Guillermo Jones graduated from the University of Buenos Aires with an interest in exploring ‘different situations that develop in the mind, generating metaphors of the desires, the feelings, the emotions, the knowledge’. His photo essay – Reality Has Structure Of Fiction [two of which are displayed above] – looks at the idea that ‘days, hours, minutes are only cogwheels of a mechanism than us it is relaxing, imposing his chronology of the duty on us, and distorting our perception of the world and of the value of life’. The3some seeks collaborations with like-minded people and together, they strive to bust boredom. As you are reading this, the relentless battle continues.
Chicago’s Cheer Accident started as a post-no-wave weirdo band typical of the Skin Graft roster, but of late, they’ve been doing some unrestrained pop and rock. They even have harmonized vocals and an occasional horn. This isn’t to say they’re commercializing – their songs are just as complex as ever, and there’s still a hint of discordance beneath the shimmering new sound.

Almanac Market in Philadelphia is slightly pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.
