Currently working out of Westminster, California, Brooklyn born photographer, Brooks Manbeck, drove across to California to attend CSULB where he received a BFA. ‘Most of my work is done with a Canonette QLIII Rangefinder camera because of its compact size and availablity on Ebay. New places and new situations are my inspiration. Time spent staring through a viewfinder is time wasted’. His photography has been published in Dice magazine and Flow magazine. French fashion designer and illustrator Cedric Rivrain draws how I’d love to be able to — with amazing attention to detail and patience. He’s designed for Martine Sitbon and John Galliano at Christian Dior and his fashion experience reflects in his work, which has been shown in magazines such as Numéro, Dazed and Confused, Tokion, Stiletto, and A magazine.
There’s something quite captivating about the muted tones and soft textures of Anna Fraser’s photographs. The Australian designer has a very precise sense of framing, which is reflected in the slightly insidery, but beautifully balanced perspective that her work provides on places and scenery that only few people ever get to experience. By her own admission, Fraser ‘prefers things that are not usually very fashionable. Like beige, lots of beige and maybe a bit of taupe’. We think she might be onto something. Read more
