New York-based artist, Leandro Sanchez, was born and raised in Venezuela before moving to Paris to study at the E.I.C.A film school. As well as exhibiting regularly as an artist, Sanchez is also a successful advertising commercial director having worked on international accounts for agencies such as TBWA and Leo Burnett. Of his art his says: ‘I include modern messages in my text – some are streams of words, but some have poems or monologues about religion, racism, history or a simple analysis of our times. I offer an opinion that is there for the viewer to find, and to approve or disapprove or (better yet) to agree with. I like to create this rhetoric within a shape that attracts, that opens one’s curiosity and senses’. He can be contacted through the Repertorium Films website.

Filmmaker creates LEGO stop motion to propose to girlfriend
Now, this is one for the ages: back in 2010, Atlanta film-maker Walter Thompson created a jaw-dropping LEGO stop motion to propose to Nealey Dozier, his girlfriend of four years. The video took 22 hours of shooting and some 2,600 pictures to splice together, a small sacrifice to pay for years of happiness together. Right? Right! Oh, and she said yes. Bonus.

No Age are doing something different to the mass of noise-laden, guitar-drum duos canvasing the lo-fi airwaves at the moment. I’m just not sure quite what. Their album, Nouns, is receiving top-rate reviews after sell-out crowds after screaming, obsessive fans. The music is simply massive: a vast landscape of heat haze, somehow both tranquil and manic, punctuated by singer Dean Sprouts backdrop of barely intelligible vocals and Randall’s distorted, archaic sounding drums.
