Ok, granted this may be a little too much information, but heck we’re all adults here (our screening process is rigorous I tell you, rigorous) and this is something that’s happened to each and every one of us at some point of our illustrious lives. So without further ado, I begin … there I am late one night last week, in the middle of New York City, walking about aimlessly in search of a toilet. Busting. And I mean painfully, desperately busting. Of the busting variety where walking is an effort and where a leak the size and power of Niagara Falls could well have sprung at any goddamn moment. Of course, just when you need somewhere to go, there isn’t one. Anywhere! So I’m at the stage where my bladder feels like it’s being pounded by a procession of oversized medicine balls, each one whispering conspiratorially: ‘man, just let it go. Just let it all trickle out. I know you want to. You’ll feel soooo much better’. And, of course, I would’ve. But this is downtown Manhattan. And there are people everywhere. Eventually, and don’t ask me how – it’s all a blur – I made it home where I made a frantic dash for the bathroom and unleashed a stream so long and robust that it may well be entered straight into the Guinness Book of Records. No verification required. It could have lasted five minutes. It could’ve been an hour. I don’t know. Time just seemed to stand still. The relief was unbelievable. Which made me wonder later how the hell hibernating bears hold it in for so long. No wonder the damn things are so pissed off when they finally awake. [illustration by Fernanda Cohen]

Filmmaker creates LEGO stop motion to propose to girlfriend
Now, this is one for the ages: back in 2010, Atlanta film-maker Walter Thompson created a jaw-dropping LEGO stop motion to propose to Nealey Dozier, his girlfriend of four years. The video took 22 hours of shooting and some 2,600 pictures to splice together, a small sacrifice to pay for years of happiness together. Right? Right! Oh, and she said yes. Bonus.

This one is on marionette maker, Pablo Cano, who uses ‘mundane objects to create magic on a string’. And he does. We hope you enjoy!
In a world filled with conceptual environmental architect, Lost in Paris, designed by R&Sie Architects for a so-called ‘urban witch’, is the definition of innovation and resourcefulness. The 1400 square foot home is engulfed by 1200 ferns and 300 glass-blown pods. A potion of rainwater and plant nutrients are fed to the pods, which in turn feed the ferns, drop by drop, during the year. And because the home is entirely covered with the plants, it is protected from outside weather and the interior temperature is regulated without use of traditional methods.
Conceptual artist Pascual Sisto stumbled across a Google Maps street view of Minnie Street in Fairbanks Alaska that was obscured by a plastic bag. He has the view preserved on his site in case Google decides to re-photograph the intersection.
