The question of colours is really an intriguing one in photography, for they can quickly become trivial or obtrusive, or disturb the composition. It is vital to make rigorous decisions as to when to use colours and when to return to black and white. The difficulty of this decision is somewhat demonstrated here:

In a recent series, it even happened the opposite way, that I added colours to images originally shot on b&amp;w film.</description>
