Noumeda was born in Paris to an Indian-French mother and an Italian father. She now lives and works in Florence, Italy. ‘I attended the Diploma of Istituto d’Arte di Firenze on Arti Grafiche with a specialization in illustration and engraving. I’ve studied a variety of fields – from video to photography and contemporary dance – and I’ve collaborated with an active independent group of artists – dancers, videomakers, musicians, and digital artists. I work with pencil, ink, watercolour, photographs, gold pigment, and sometimes I mix hand drawing with computer technique. I like errors, the small surprises between lines’. [see also Violet Banks]

Blippy: tracking real time online spending
The idea behind Blippy is to use the public blackboard that is the burgeoning social media environment to monitor what your friends, and their friends, are spending their hard-earned money on. The Twitter-based platform encourages its members to upload their credit card details so that their online purchases are displayed in real time for all the world — or at least a voyeuristic few — to see.

There are so many fascinating faces accompanied with wonderful personalities around. The freshness that street cast models have, has also benefited my work immeasurably. I ran a series of 80s nights in New York last year — showing cult 80s movies and playing classic cuts from that era of kitsch and spice — purely so I could spin After The Fire’s Der Kommissar over and over. Yessir, this was the future of music in 1983. Pity no one was listening.

These very sweet folks from Seattle supported Broken Social Scene on our last American dates of the Spirit IF tour. Although they haven’t quite hit their stride as a live outfit, the tunes from songwriter Grant Olsen have some very lovely moments that fall somewhere between Velvet Underground and The Everly Brothers. I think Arthur and Yu could take over from where Grandaddy left off, though with better songs. No offense to Grandaddy.
