Oh kamikaze

There’s some musical goodness lurking around the Record Play website. They source out hot new acts and bring them kicking and screaming (in their Doc Martens and Converse no less!) into the full glare of the spotlight for punters everywhere to discover. But what’s even better is that they also provide podcasts of selected live shows which means that you can enjoy the sonic histrionics of some of Europe and America’s finest young bands without the sweaty excesses of the whole communal experience. So good. As is Irish magazine, Co-operate With Us, a tasty slice of artistic hedonism wrapped up beautiful, minimalist packaging and with a very limited print run of just 1500 copies each issue.

Nice doodle. That's a photorealistic line drawing of a cat riding a bicycle, right? You should sign up for our free email newsletter.

Star Wars Uncut: a fully crowdsourced version of Episode IV

The project of creative technologist, Casey Pugh, this full length version of the George Lucas masterpiece was created from multiple 15 second segments recreated from the original movie and submitted by thousands of Star Wars fans, which were then spliced together by editor Aaron Valdez to form the final product. Genius, as both a commentary on contemporary pop culture trends (there are references to LEGO, stop motion, memes and the like) and on the power of tapping your audience for quality material.

Filmmaker creates LEGO stop motion to propose to girlfriend

Now, this is one for the ages: back in 2010, Atlanta film-maker Walter Thompson created a jaw-dropping LEGO stop motion to propose to Nealey Dozier, his girlfriend of four years. The video took 22 hours of shooting and some 2,600 pictures to splice together, a small sacrifice to pay for years of happiness together. Right? Right! Oh, and she said yes. Bonus.

How old must Kermit be now? Not to old to collaborate with skater-friendly retailer Supreme and photographer Terry Richardson. Kermit, who usually wears nothing, has been hooked up with some new threads to advertise the brand. It seems Kermit and Terry are the perfect work partners: they’ve even released a video clip documenting the shoot.

His name is Marshall Ace Drummond, which makes his initials MAD. At just over 8 months old, you don’t need to be clucky to appreciate his outfits: from Baby Gap to Cheap Monday, and sometimes not much more than a cheeky grin. This bub oozes charisma and his clothes suit him to a tee (pun intended).

TheStar69 track So What Is The News is the very personification of great pop. In fact, it takes bits and pieces of the best music the The Cult, Hall & Oates and The Steve Miller Band ever recorded and messes it up with a well-honed, Scottish sense of mischief. We like.

All you nerds should wet yourselves over these Doctor Who costume t-shirts, which feature the outfits of various Doctor Whos. Which one is your favorite?
