UK-CL has this to say about it: ‘Being asked to complete a Choice mix is becoming something of a benchmark against which success and status is measured. Kenny Dope does not disappoint and steps up to offer us a heady, disco ensemble fuelled with rare Chicago classics and hard to find grooves. One for the heads, Kenny Dope’s release is full of warm nostalgia and is a nod to Kenny’s rich musical past which covers everything from house, hip hop, soul, Jazz, broken beats and more’. And so it does. This latest in the Choice series is a rousing collection of tunes featuring artists as diverse as James Brown (I’m Satisfied’), Manhattan Transfer (’Twilight Zone’), Level 42 (’Starchild’), and Cameo. And thanks to IMD we have five CDs to give away to random emailers with their address and a short, sharp musical treat in the body of the message.

It was during the 80s when I was extremely young, and I’ve never stopped listening to this song’. Read the rest of Crimea X’s Secret Playlist.

I love the curated selection of abandoned swimming pool photos on Feature Shoot today, featuring work by Carlo Van de Roer and Albert Jodar, amongst others.

Drawing from anime and fantasy art from the past half-century of graphic design and illustration, Jason Chan’s images appeal to the role-playing geek in us all. Chan renders beautiful pixie women and expressive children with bright eyes and remarkable dragon-riding abilities — their zombie-slaying skills ain’t too shabby either. Read more

If anyone ever asks you to define the word “schadenfreude,” show him or her these pictures of a poor skier hanging from a ski lift with his junk exposed to the alpine chill. If the person viewing the pictures laughs, he or she now understands the particularly useful German term.

Sometimes we need an ad to remind us of what’s important. Normal is beautiful. Keep our oceans alive. Vote. Be more fearless. The Whitehouse Post is an international post-production company whose projects are damn fine. In fact, they are the scary mix of wit and aesthetics that makes any message convincing. Long live Coca-Cola.

I live the upbeat, feel good tempo of the new single — A Hundred Hearts — from Philly group, The Swimmers. Off their latest album, People Are Soft, this song is a strangely fitting anthem for the blustery day outside.

Forget battery powered vehicles. Cars made from ice are the future of transportation: no pollution, no honking horns, no painful rap music blasting out of souped up stereos. And if they melt, they melt. You just swim the rest of the way down the slipstream.
